Testhouse believes it has a contribution to make not only to its staff, partners and clients, but also to the community.

THE ENVIRONMENT:

Testhouse operates an environmentally friendly policy including recycling waste paper, plastics and cardboard boxes. We also recycle empty printer toners, inks and cartridges; profits we receive are all donated to Oxfam Charity.

THE COMMUNITY:

Testhouse donates to a few nominated charities including holding regular fund-raising events. Below are some of the organisation we support on a regular basis:


1) NEBP
Newham Education Business Partnership are collective set of individual businesses and the community within Newham who provides help to young kids in schools and colleges to develop the necessary skills and qualities needed for their future work or career. Their aim is to:
  • Contribute to the develoment of pupils' literacy, numeracy and other key skills
  • Promote all aspects of work-related learning and enterprise
  • Encourage aspiration and raise self-esteem to enable young people of Newham to make positive life choices
  • Provide pupils with hands-on experience over a longer period of time to prepare the student for the world of work by giving them skills and qualities needed
They have various programmes for business organisation such as two weeks student work experience or extended work placement.

At Testhouse, we provide both work experience and extended work placements for students and young kids throughout the year as part of our long term commitment to the community. We also hold Mock Interviews, Teacher Training and Enterprise Business Clubs for schools.

2) INDEPENDENT AGE CHARITY

IndependentAge is a charity within the UK and Ireland whose focus and priority is helping older people age 65 and over to live independently in their later years. They help people on low incomes to live a fulfilled and dignified life. Their focus and priority are given to those individuals who have made a significant and unrelenting contribution to their community. Support includes:
  • Providing a regular income for life
  • Support and friendship of volunteers
  • Help with grant for emergencies
  • Help with equipment to aid independence
  • Holidays
  • New clothing and bedding
Some of the Patrons who continually provides support to the organisation includes:
  • Her Royal Highness Princess Alexandra
  • The Hon Lady Ogilvy KG GCVO
  • The Lord Archbishop of Canterbury
  • The Cardinal Archbishop of Westminster
At Testhouse, we aim to give regular donations, provide voluntary work and from time to time participate in a number of fund raising events that IndependentAge have organised.

NEWHAM AGE CONCERN CHARITY


In London, the Age Concern organisation has at least one charity which is base at every Borough whose aim is to assist and help to the needs of the older people in the community. They employ nearly 1500 staff, many of whom are part-time and thousands of volunteers across the country.

Newham Age Concern is part of the charity group providing services to many thousands of older people from 50 and above within each community. Their work includes:
  • Welfare and Disability Benefits
  • Housing Rights
  • Health & Social Care
  • Local Services
  • Arrange for advisers a visit at home for those who are frail and over 60
  • Advice on benefits and rights as well as care and other services
  • And other things that affect their quality of life in order to enjoy a more active and healthy
They have different voluntary programmes for people or organisation who can spare a few hours a weeks such as:
  • Home visits for those who have returned home after a stay in hospital
  • Working a couple of hours in the office
  • Volunteering as an IT Trainer to lead and facilitate teaching older people basic computer skills including email, internet and word processing
  • Volunteer for 3-4 hours a week for 'Ageing Well' - a network of clubs and groups to promote healthy activities for the older community

We give regular donations and provide voluntary work and help by giving a couple of hours a month of our time or when required.

4) OTHERS

In 2005 we participated in the British 10K London Run as a sponsored team.



OUR CONTRIBUTION:

Testhouse is proud to sponsor the current European Junior Badminton Champion, Rajiv Ouseph. He is 19 years old and ranked third in the Junior England Team. He has been picked by the British Olympics Association as one of the brightest medal prospects in the 2012 Olympics.

Since turning Senior, he has played on a number of senior tournaments around the world and recently won the English Nationals tournament in February 2008. Currently, he is ranked 1st in the English Men's Singles title and ranked 44th in the IBF World Seniors Men's Singles.

We have complete confidence that Rajiv will do extremely well in the London 2012 Olympics.
